surbiusio.com is a hotel list run by a small independent editorial team, and that team decides what little personal data passes through it. Reach us at hello@surbiusio.com about anything below.

You will not find logins, subscriptions or a members' corner here. All pages open to anyone, and we chose from the outset to run without visitor statistics or measurement tools of any kind.

If you contact us, whether by writing straight to the address or by letting the form compose a draft in your mail app, we see whatever that email holds: typically your name, the sending address and the message itself. It is read, answered and put to no other use.

Like most web hosts, ours may jot down the technical side of each visit automatically: IP address, browser make, the URL fetched and a timestamp. Those entries help keep the site secure and running, are purged after a short spell and never used to put a name to a visitor.

Your browser keeps one small value noting whether you closed the storage box. The About cookies page goes through it line by line.

• No ad networks, like buttons or statistics scripts are embedded anywhere.
• Nobody is profiled, graded or sorted by an algorithm here.
• We trade personal details with no one, for money or otherwise.

The lettering on these pages is served by Google Fonts, so Google learns your IP address when your browser requests it. Clicking through to a hotel's website hands you over to that hotel's own privacy terms.

We process emails because replying to them is a legitimate interest of ours. A thread stays in the mailbox while it is live and is cleared within a year of the final message.

Depending on your country, you might be entitled to see everything we keep about you, get mistakes fixed, have it erased, restrict or challenge how it is used, and complain to a data protection regulator. Ask by email and we will meet the deadline your law sets.

Minors are not our audience. Should a message reach us from someone under 18, it is deleted as soon as we realise.
